Abstract
The Salon für Kunstbuch, located in the 21er Haus at Vienna Central Station, was created in 2007 by Bernhard Cella. It functions as an exhibition platform for artist’s publications. Cella writes:

“The basic idea of the salon comprises realizing a space where two contradictory things occur at the same site: it functions according to expectations, and at the same time, remains a model of itself. It is thereby permanently derived from an attraction of the unreal. Formulated in terms of art, that means linking the identity of a site with a functional difference. This explains why I installed a 1:1 model of a bookstore in what was my Viennese studio at the time in early 2007.”

This book, published on the fifth anniversary of the 21er Haus, catalogues the events, projects, and books presented at the Salon.
